Kreacher is gone for several days, during which “two cloaked men [have] appeared in the square outside number twelve,” keeping watch in “the direction of the house that they could not see” (201). One night, Lupin comes to Grimmauld Place and assures Harry, Ron, and Hermione that everyone is safe, but he reminds them that anyone connected to Harry or the Order is being watched.
